4th Mobility2Grid-Symposium: Identify potentials of electrified vehicle fleets
Which potentials arise when vehicle fleets for public transportation are electrified? Around 70 participants from research and practice met at the EUREF Campus in Berlin at the 4th Mobility2Grid Symposium on March 5th, 2019 to discuss this and further questions.
The MATH+ excellence cluster proposal of the Berlin mathematics community has been approved for funding under the German Excellence Strategy. The MODAL Research Campus provides a platform for all the cooperation projects between science and business under MATH+. In this way, MATH+ will benefit from the broad experience and cooperation culture of the research campus.

Industrie 4.0: DPP Research Campus Supports RWTH Aachen "Internet of Production" Excellence Cluster
The "Internet of Production" (IoP) excellence cluster was launched at RWTH Aachen in January 2019. The Digital Photonic Production (DPP) Research Campus is involved in this activity. The aim of cooperation is to transfer the Internet concept and its digital information opportunities to tomorrow's world of production, thus creating a kind of Google for production.
Federal Research Minister Visits Mobility2Grid: Renewable Energy and Electric Mobility in an Urban Testing Environment
Anja Karliczek, Federal Minister of Education and Research, visited the Mobility2Grid Research Campus on the EUREF Campus in Berlin-Schöneberg on 6 December 2018. Accompanied by the Governing Mayor of Berlin, Michael Müller, she gained an insight into the close cooperation between science and industry for the transformation of the energy and transport systems.
MODAL Research Campus at the 3rd German-Japanese Workshop: Real World Data Analysis and High-performance Optimization to Benefit Innovation
In order to promote innovation, smart algorithms are used to analyse complex data on high-performance computers. The third workshop in Tokyo from 26 September to 1 October 2018, to which the Japanese hosts had invited researchers from the MODAL Research Campus and the Zuse Institute Berlin, addressed the challenges of high-performance optimization and real world data analysis.
"Innovation Hub: Research Campus" Conference: A New Culture of Cooperation to Guide Innovative Research
The forward-looking research campus cooperation model was introduced in 2013. Meanwhile nine such research campuses have been established throughout Germany which are funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. Five years after the launch of this funding initiative, approximatety 150 guests met in Berlin on 20 September 2018 at the "Innovation Hub: Research Campus" conference to review progress and discuss challenges and visions.
In 2016, researchers in Jena developed an antimicrobial resistance test. It has meanwhile been used in a clinical trial in Pakistan. The result: It is quick, reliable and low-cost – and is thus suited for use in clinical labs. (German version of press release at www.bmbf.de)

Aachen DC Grid Summit 2018: Interdisciplinary Knowledge Exchange at Conference on DC Technologies
The Flexible Electricity Networks (FEN) Research Campus held its first conference on DC technologies on April 19th and 20th 2018 entitled "Where the International DC Community Meets". More than 100 international participants from science and industry attended the Aachen DC Grid Summit (ADCGS) to discuss the latest trends and the future of energy supply.
