Canadian delegation visits Mobility2grid to discuss energy storage technologies
The Mobility2Grid Research Campus hosted a Canadian delegation on March 5th, 2019, to discuss questions about energy storage technologies in Berlin.
The Mobility2Grid (M2G) Research Campus welcomed a delegation of scientists from various Canadian research universities. The group is part of the research cooperation “NSERC Energy Storage Technology Network” (NEST) and deals with current questions of energy storages.
Prof. Dietmar Göhlich of the technical university Berlin and speaker of the Mobility2Grid Research Campus, presented the goals of the research campus. Afterwards Dr. Andreas Raab (TU Berlin) explained technical solutions to merge renewable energies and electric vehicles during a site visit of the EUREF area, home base of Mobility2Grid. The site visit also included a tour of the zeemoBase, which is both an energy control center and a showroom for the technology and functionality of the local smart grid. The visitors also got to see the EUREF Energy Workshop in a guided tour with Andreas Jarfe (GASAG Solution Plus GmbH). As operations were running, he explained technologies for warming, cooling and electricity supply for future district solutions.
